Boulevard 03:32
I never do my nails I stay out of the sun I never get invited No one ever comes Lost direction In the vacuum and the fog Just a Kleenex box and some Lithium I'm a call back that never comes You won't see my star on the boulevard In the gilded age of the cinema I got so many roles Fan love and a burgeoning career I remember everything with a silver tear Now I'm a bit part I'm a call back that never comes You won't see my star on the boulevard Hey boy bring me that bottle Hey where'd he go Tell me flattering lies Hey boy bring be that bottle Hey where'd he go Tell me flattering lies And I wake alone In a black cell I never had any children I need a cigarette Hell I need to forget But can I really go through with it? Go Put your make up on And wear the red gown But what if no one comes around? I keep thinking What if no one comes around?

Half a million folk just waiting at the station Got a third class ticket for a mass migration And their aim is escape with the young and the aching From a state close to breaking But they're sleeping on the road And you should know There's no danger in letting people in We've got a history of shame, no mistaking But we all used to shit in the woods and walk naked If you ever see a vagrant who's removed from behaviour our society keeps craving and you're getting set to go Then you should know There's no danger in letting people in Judges get appointed by mass corporations Make decisions for a state who signed a declaration just for capital advantage While the voters die waiting for the profits to be sold, by the few rich involved And you should know There's no danger in letting people in We're all getting jumpy There are tremors lying waiting for a civilisation with a need to procreate I can see the point you're making but I'm terrified to date I can't afford a baby so I'll probably die alone And you should know...
3.
Underwater 04:17
What we gonna do tonight? The city calls but we don't talk I've never felt less alive We're building walls by candlelight When you come home today I'll test the waters I'll head for shore Don't wanna be alone tonight A stranger called She'll call again So what we gonna do tonight? Keep on waiting for help to come? Eventually we'll die inside Too much thought Too little fight When you came home today I drank a bottle And locked the door I wanna be alone tonight You make me worry You make me cry Even underwater
4.
Crumble 04:24
There's something wonderful Coming from the sky To keep us up all night My eyelids crumble Yours are red and dry Turn on the outdoor light It's time to shake up both our lives Come out baby Don't be afraid to die We'll be awake all night Our bodies crumble It's time to say goodbye Out in the shrinking light It's been a roller-coaster ride There's a fire forming overhead Like amber glowing in an algae bed And a cloud comes curling over it As if a giant smoked a cigarette No more....no more....no more....
5.
We don't need a wake up call All our friends are late night dreamers
6.
Oh great unknown What shall I ask of thee? Will I find my true love? And will she bury me? I am in no hurry For a life I can't foresee I'll find a way to be happier and free Oh great unknown Whom to this life I'm bound I refuse your restrictions And relinquish no ground I am in no hurry For a life I can't foresee I'll find a way to be happier and free Oh great unknown What shall I ask of thee? Will I wait without fortune? Or succumb to greed? I am in no hurry For a life I can't foresee I'll find a way to be happier and free
7.
Vacation 03:41
Our lives lead us places unknown Sometimes I'm fine Then I crumble Vacation, vacation Don't make me In a while I'm outside I'll be alone Days spent writing in your bathrobe Walk out, wake up Repeat, cycle Vacation, vacation Don't make me In a while I'm outside I'll be alone
8.
There's a lack of actual talking I mean cutting through the shit If you sit at my table I can show you where to spit If you don't want disappointment You can simply disconnect Or remove all expectation This will have the same effect I'm gonna pull and pile me teeth in the sun Slowly one by one by one There's a multitude of theories people wish to propagate Like a steady drip of water Forcing you to stay awake If the graveyard is full We can digitise the stones Make a list of all the mourners Send a picture to their phones I'm gonna pull and pile me teeth in the sun Slowly one by one by one We were speaking of survival And the different ways we cope All the things that make us anxious Then you talked about the goat How your fear was manifested How your feet had been exposed How the salt had brought it closer How it fed upon your toes I'm gonna pull and pile me teeth in the sun Slowly one by one by one There's an image going round One where people got their heads held down And now I've seen it I'm inclined Too feel complicit As if I had conspired
9.
Adrianne 07:21
What is your name? What does it matter? I can't begin to think in all this lightning Once I could swim That's all I remember Don't try to connect me I feel the pieces binding We'll call her Adrianne Here in this crowd of fresh coloured prisms We're not your friends But that doesn't mean we're hiding What's in the bottle? Magnesium water Come back to ground The look in your eyes is frightening Adrianne

about

Released September 25, 2020 on Kinship

THIS PROJECT WAS BIRTHED IN THE GARAGEBAND SOFTWARE OF A 2004 MAC BOOK PRO.

IN A DOGMATIC APPROACH TO SONGWRITING AND PRODUCTION, MR BLISS CREEK (RICHIE SETFORD) DECIDED TO LIMIT HIMSELF BY WORKING EXCLUSIVELY 'IN THE BOX', EVEN USING THE INTERNAL LAPTOP MIC FOR ANY VOCAL OR ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENTATION.
AIDED BY SOME EXTERNAL SAMPLING AND DRUM PROGRAMMING, THE BLISS CREEK SOUND AESTHETIC IS AN EVOCATIVE LANDSCAPE - CINEMATIC AND IMAGINATIVE. COLOURS PULSE AND INTENSIFY, MORPH AND MURMUR. ORGANS AND SYNTHS WRAP AROUND MELODIES THAT DRIP DOWN LIKE SHARDS OF LIGHT. LIKE STAINED GLASS SET TO MUSIC. DREAM WAVE POP FOR LONG ATTENTION SPANS.

about

Bliss Creek Berlin, Germany

Bliss Creek is the side project of Berlin based/NZ displaced artist Richie Setford. A project that was birthed in the Garageband software of a 2004 Mac Book Pro. In a dogmatic approach to songwriting, Richie decided to limit myself to working exclusively 'in the box', utilising the internal laptop mic for any vocal or acoustic instrumentation.

A stained glass dream wave for long attention spans.
